Technical Project Manager - Build & Release

About Business line/Function:

The role is in Global Banking IT - Supply Chain Finance Solutions, which provides financing solutions for corporate clients. The function is that of a Technical Manager, responsible for overseeing the build and release of solutions, working closely with on-shore Product Owners, Project Managers, and various technical teams including development, TCOE, IT security, architecture, and other transversal teams to ensure effective delivery of high-quality solutions.

Position Purpose

The role is in Global Banking IT - Supply Chain Finance Solutions, which provides financing solutions for corporate clients. The function is that of a Technical Manager, responsible for overseeing the build and release of solutions, working closely with on-shore Product Owners, Project Managers, and various technical teams including development, TCOE, IT security, architecture, and other transversal teams to ensure effective delivery of high-quality solutions.

Resource should be able to deploy applications, build and package releases, maintain servers, write shell scripts, and troubleshoot issues, with strong knowledge of containerization, logging, and monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

Direct Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and oversight in the design and development of releases, ensuring alignment with CIB standards and guidelines, and adherence to industry best practices.
• Develop and implement IT risk management strategies, including technology and infrastructure obsolescence, vulnerability management, and compliance, to minimize risk and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including BA, QA, and RM, to define technical vision and direction, and ensure seamless delivery of high-quality releases, meeting timelines and standards.
• Conduct technical and design reviews, providing expert guidance and oversight to ensure effective collaboration and smooth delivery of releases.
• Provide strategic technical guidance and recommendations to management, participating in technical discussions, and making informed technical decisions that drive business outcomes.
• Develop and implement technical roadmaps, contingency plans, and mitigation strategies, ensuring the implementation and maintenance of DevSecOps practices and application version control.
• Take ownership of technical delivery, including planning, coordination, and execution of releases, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery, and meeting business requirements.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and standards, and adherence to industry best practices and regulatory requirements, providing technical governance and oversight.
• Collaborate with development teams to ensure smooth handover of releases, and provide technical guidance and support as needed, to ensure successful deployment and operation.

• Participate in technical strategy discussions and contribute to technical decision-making, providing expert guidance and recommendations to drive business outcomes.
• Act as a technical mentor and coach to team members, providing guidance and oversight to ensure technical excellence and successful delivery of releases.
• Develop and maintain technical expertise in applications, creating knowledge repositories and sharing best practices, to drive technical innovation and improvement.
• Identify and prioritize technical debt, developing plans to address technical deficiencies and improve overall system quality and reliability.
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging the adoption of new technologies and approaches to drive business value and competitive advantage.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement technical training and development programs, ensuring that team members have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality technical solutions.
• Participate in technical communities of practice, sharing knowledge and expertise with other technical leaders and teams to drive technical excellence and consistency across the organization.
• Develop and maintain technical roadmaps, aligning technical strategies with business objectives and ensuring that technical capabilities are aligned with business needs.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks, developing and implementing strategies to minimize risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Expert in release management using tools like Jenkins, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Docker
• Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker
• Exposure to DevOps practices and tools like Ansible, Artifactory, and SonarQube
• Hands-on experience with scripting languages like Python and Shell (Linux)
• Experience with database management systems like Oracle and MySQL
• Exposure to security and compliance protocols like OAuth2 and ELDAP
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work with development, test, and production support teams
• Individual contributor with ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience in release management and deployment of microservices-based applications
• Knowledge of supply chain domain would be a plus
• Active interest and experience in AI techniques applied to delivery and deployment procedures would be a plus
