Job Description

As an Analytical Scientist at AkzoNobel, your main objective will be to ensure the on-time, in full and quality delivery of experimental plans and technical deliverables, including VC deliverables. You will play a key role in creating and maintaining a competitive advantage against market leaders, focusing on INNOVATION & RENOVATION projects for the organization. Compliance with global AkzoNobel HSE&S and PS policies, along with Sustainability requirements for NPDs, is crucial. Your responsibilities will also involve developing product knowledge, understanding customer needs, market insights, and best practices. You will be expected to act as an HSE&S responsible individual and assist the Lab Manager/Steward in ensuring and implementing safe working conditions in line with global HSE&S & Sustainability policies. Taking individual responsibility for planning and conducting experimental work plans for new method development & renovation, as well as contributing to testing paint formulations to gain insights, will be part of your role. Additionally, you will assist the product owner in providing technical support for customer complaints and maintain accurate records of experimental work with clear presentation of key technical data. In this role, you will have autonomy in managing lab testing and data representation for projects, as well as planning individual work schedules based on stipulated timelines. Your ability to deliver time-bound analytical results and solutions, sustain a competitive edge, manage technical expectations of key customers (internal & external), adapt to changing market requirements, and possess knowledge of construction materials and processes will be crucial. Candidates for this position should hold an M Sc in Chemistry from a reputable institution with 2-3 years of experience. Essential skills and knowledge include innovative work approach, hands-on operation of sophisticated analytical equipment, expertise in Chromatography & Spectroscopy, analytical ability, knowledge of wet chemistry & method development, and understanding of Chemistry/Polymer Chemistry/Paint formulation. Furthermore, being sensitive to HSE&S/sustainability, having system orientation, and being conversant with work planning processes are essential. Desirable skills include teamwork and workable knowledge of analytical testing. The ideal candidate should have previous experience as an Analytical Scientist with instrumentation & wet analysis, and aged approximately between 25-30 years old.
