Technical Lead

In this role at Zaloni, you will be a part of the Engineering team responsible for architecting, designing, and building Zaloni's flagship product - Arena. Your key responsibilities will include: - Taking technical ownership for the development and delivery of product features as a member of an agile team, involving design, code, test, technical documentation, technical training, and stakeholder presentations. - Providing subject matter expertise on multiple functional areas, collaborating with developers, testers, architects, documentation, and product managers to ensure high-quality feature deliverables. - Working on a Scrum Team using Agile principles, participating in backlog grooming, team Sprint Planning meetings, and completing technical spikes as needed on new technologies or designs. - Fixing complex bugs, improving the current system, identifying technical debt areas, diagnosing and resolving performance issues, and exploring new technologies in the market. - Coaching team members on design and implementation, conducting code reviews, contributing to institutional knowledge, and supporting partner teams within Zaloni on client engagements. - Assigning tasks and guiding development for less experienced team members. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelors or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience - Minimum of seven (7) years of experience actively developing web and big data applications - Strong knowledge of Java, Maven, Spring, and Hibernate, with expertise in working independently with these technologies - Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, clean code practices, software reuse, refactoring, secure coding, API design, and implementation - Experience with agile practices, cloud technologies, big data technologies (MapReduce, Hadoop, Spark, Hive), and major cloud platforms - Understanding of key programming concepts and Java implementation, data structures, algorithms, OOPS, exception handling, collections, multi-threaded programming, and RDBMS basics Desired skills/experience include working with globally-distributed teams, big data development with Spark, data management platforms, persistence patterns, UI development, application and system level testing, and high availability and scalability.
