Technical Engineer (Part Manager/ Engineer)

Role & responsibilities

1. SMT (Surface Mount Technology) Technical Oversight:

• Set up and program

  SMT machines

  for various LED models.
• Maintain and optimize

  SMT

  and component alignment.
• Analyze and troubleshoot common SMT issues such as

  component shift, bridging, tombstoning, and solder voids

  .
• Ensure

  thermal profiling

  for different PCBs is done according to component datasheet specifications.
• Maintain

  machine calibration records and preventive maintenance schedules

  .

2. ICT & FCT (In-Circuit & Functional Testing) Engineering Support:

• Design and maintain

  ICT and FCT test jigs

  for different LED driver boards and control PCBs.
• Program and calibrate

  test setups

  for checking electrical continuity, voltage output, power factor, dimming compatibility, and overall functionality.
• Ensure proper functioning of test stations and quick

  troubleshooting of test failures

  or jig errors.
• Support quality and design teams with

  test data analysis

  and report generation.

3. WAVE Soldering & Through-Hole Assembly:

• Set and monitor

  WAVE soldering profiles

  including preheat temperature, conveyor speed, and solder pot temperature.
• Optimize soldering results for

  through-hole connectors, terminal blocks, and power components

  used in LED assemblies.
• Resolve issues such as

  solder bridging, insufficient soldering, and flux residue

  .
• Maintain and clean

  spray fluxers, conveyors, and solder pots

  as per schedule.

4. Component / Parts Management:

• Manage the

  technical database of all electronic components

  (LEDs, resistors, ICs, inductors, connectors, etc.).
• Create and maintain accurate

  Bill of Materials (BOMs)

  , component datasheets, and footprint libraries.
• Evaluate

  alternate parts or equivalent substitutes

  for out-of-stock or obsolete items without affecting circuit functionality.
• Ensure the right parts are kitted and issued to production lines as per the

  assembly plan

  .
• Support in

  vendor evaluation

  from a technical standpoint, ensuring compliance with product performance.

5. Production Engineering & Line Support:

• Act as the technical interface between

  production, quality, and design teams

  to resolve on-line technical problems.
• Provide

  operator training

  for component orientation, polarity checking, soldering standards, and ESD safety.
• Participate in

  process validation and first-batch approval

  for new product launches.
• Conduct

  engineering change implementation (ECO/ECR)

  and update related documents, BOMs, and drawings accordingly.

Preferred candidate profile

• Automobile industry (preferred) or manufactured company.
• Over 3 years experience.
• Korean speaking is additional advantage.
