Technical Architect VMware NSX & HCX

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Solution Architects and service delivery teams to plan and execute infrastructure deployments and large-scale migrations to Azure VMware Solution using VMware HCX.
• Engage directly with application, infrastructure, and security teams to define migration and deployment requirements.
• Maintain deep knowledge of VMware networking (NSX) and migration (HCX) technologies and implement solutions aligned with industry best practices.
• Create and share solution documents, contribute to technical communities, build automated self-help tools, and deliver internal technical training.
• Support and troubleshoot complex SDDC and datacenter networking architectures.

Required Qualifications & Competencies

• 12–25 years of overall IT experience

  with strong architecture and design background.
• Extensive experience architecting and designing SDDC environments using

  VMware NSX

  .
• Hands-on expertise with VMware core cloud infrastructure:
  

• VMware vSphere 6.0+

  (Required)

• VMware NSX-T

  (Required)
• NSX Edge services (DNS, DHCP, Gateway Firewall, Distributed Firewall)
• NSX implementation & NSX-V/VLAN to NSX-T migrations

• VMware HCX Advanced & Enterprise

  (Required)

• VMware SRM & vSphere Replication

  (Preferred)

• VMware management suite

  – vCD, vROps, vRNI, vRLI (Preferred)
• Proven experience with enterprise migrations using VMware HCX.
• Strong understanding of:
  
• Hypervisors & hardware platforms
• Datacenter networking (L2/L3 topologies & fabric)
• Security, high availability, monitoring, alerting
• Experience with

  Azure hosting

  , cloud infrastructure, or other public cloud environments.
• Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance standards.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder-management skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
• Certifications such as

  CCDP, CCNP, VCP-NV

  are preferred but not mandatory.
