Principal Responsibilities: Operations: The jobholder is responsible for effectively handling transactions for the assigned portfolios/end-to-end processing and ensuring targets are met with quality output within defined turnaround times by having a thorough understanding of life reinsurance concepts. Review, analyse and reconcile Life and Health Reinsurance statements of accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness. Calculation and booking of Premium, Commission, Claims and any other relevant accounting position received within the statements of account into reinsurance accounting systems for Life & Health business. Perform year-end analysis of each treaty balance sheets, as part of the Financial Statements Closing Process. Validation to be performed to make sure business conditions mentioned in client data is aligning with the contractual terms. Ensuring that payments received from clients (such as premiums) and payments made to clients (such as claims) reconcile with the client ledger. Cash Application; Manage, research, and resolve unallocated cash balances. Manage receivables for clients to prevent overdue balances. Preparation, monitoring & analysis of various business enabling reports like AR Aging, Funds in suspense, Write-off etc. and periodical close period support. Contract update and data maintenance in the systems. Respond to inquiries and requests from internal and external clients on all accounting issues. Delivering on the Technical Accounting mandates including Key Performance Indicator's & Quality Parameters to efficiently handle/accelerate Cash in the books. Collaborating with clients and Underwriting Support to resolve premium variances. Participate in initiatives and projects. Create or update procedure manuals, ensuring that processes are documented accurately, and documentation is kept current. Cross Functional Team Coordination: Support relevant business processes, portfolios, and business coordination with Cross Functional Teams. Communicate with internal and external clients to resolve issues and recommend next steps. Improvisation and upskilling while working within a set framework of policies and processes. Desired Skills: Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Insurance & equivalent field. 3+ years of work experience in the Life reinsurance. Sound understanding of Life Reinsurance Value Chain preferred. Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong written, communication & interpersonal skills. Good Data analytical skills. Attention to detail is essential. Good customer service/client relations skills. Strong organizational and self-management skills.Role & responsibilities
