Tech Lead

As a Tech Lead at Barclays, you will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects. Your responsibilities will include leading the design and development of Spring Boot microservices and React-based UIs, driving engineering excellence through code reviews and best practices, building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring solutions meet non-functional requirements like security and scalability. You will also act as a Scrum Master, collaborate with product owners and tribes for Big Room Planning, and use DORA/SPACE metrics to monitor and improve team performance. Key Responsibilities: - Lead design and development of Spring Boot microservices and React-based UIs for PBWM applications - Drive engineering excellence through code reviews, quality gates, and best practices - Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks for continuous delivery - Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements like security, scalability, and resilience - Act as Scrum Master: facilitate sprint ceremonies, remove impediments, and coach Agile practices - Collaborate with Product Owner and Tribe for Big Room Planning (BRP) and dependency management - Use DORA/SPACE metrics to monitor and improve team performance and delivery flow - Mentor engineers, foster a culture of servant leadership and continuous improvement - Partner with stakeholders to ensure compliance with Barclays policies and controls Qualifications Required: - Experience with Spring Boot microservices and React-based UIs - Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks - Knowledge of security best practices and non-functional requirements - Agile coaching skills and ability to collaborate with stakeholders - Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes In addition to the above, you may be assessed on key critical skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, and digital and technology expertise relevant to the role.
