Warehouse Team Lead Job Description

Team Lead will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day warehouse operations in an FMCG environment. The
role involves managing inbound, outbound, inventory control, manpower allocation with safety & quality standards. The Team Lead ensures timely and accurate execution of warehouse processes to support business objectives. Responsibilities for Team Lead Supervise inbound, Inventory and outbound (picking, packing, dispatch) activities. Monitor daily throughput against KPIs Ensure optimal space utilization and bin management in the warehouse. Train and guide staff on warehouse processes, safety, and compliance. Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality checks, and hygiene standards. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors. Maintain and share daily MIS reports (inbound, outbound, inventory, manpower). Escalate operational issues and provide solutions to management. Coordinate with procurement, sales, and planning teams for smooth order flow. Allocate manpower as per workload and shift requirements. Prepare shift rosters ensuring adequate coverage across all warehouse activities. Manage absenteeism, overtime, and leave planning to avoid operational disruption. Plan daily/weekly manpower deployment based on inbound, outbound, and inventory workload. Key Skills & Competencies Strong knowledge of FMCG warehouse operations (inbound, outbound, FEFO, cold chain preferred). Leadership and team management skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Knowledge of WMS systems, MS Excel and Google sheets. Good communication and coordination skills. Ability to work under pressure and in fast-paced environments. Qualifications & Experience Graduate in Supply Chain / Logistics / Operations Management or any related discipline. Freshers having good analytics knowledge or experience in warehouse/logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/team lead role. Experience in FMCG / food & beverage distribution is highly desirable.
