Lead the development and evolution of our engineering portal using Spotify Backstage.

Architect and implement Backstage plugins and custom integrations to improve developer experience.

Establish and promote best practices in JavaScript/Node.js development, CI/CD, and DevOps.

Drive technical decision-making, ensuring scalability, security, and maintainability.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering tools and platforms.

Mentor and guide developers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

Ensure high availability and performance of the engineering portal.

Must have knowledge, skills and experiences
Knowledge:

Deep understanding of Spotify Backstage architecture, extensibility, and use cases.

Strong expertise in JavaScript and Node.js for backend and plugin development.

Solid grasp of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.

Knowledge of microservices architecture and API design.

Skills:

Hands-on experience developing and customising Backstage plugins.

Strong proficiency in JavaScript/Node.js, including backend development.

Ability to design scalable architectures and improve engineering workflows.

Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines with modern tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).

Strong problem-solving skills and debugging capabilities.

Effective leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills.

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Proven track record of working with Spotify Backstage in an enterprise environment.

Experience leading engineering teams and driving technical initiatives.

Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), and DevOps tooling.

Good to have knowledge, skills and experiences
Knowledge:

Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).

Exposure to observability tools (Prometheus, OpenTelemetry, Grafana).

Skills:

Ability to advocate for and drive inner source adoption within engineering teams.

Strong stakeholder management and ability to align engineering efforts with business goals.

Experience:

Exposure to large-scale developer platforms and engineering portals.

Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, etc.).

Contributions to open-source Backstage projects or similar developer experience platforms.
