TEACHER FOR CUTTING & TAILORING

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and skilled Cutting & Tailoring Teacher to provide hands-on vocational training to trainees under skill development programs. The instructor will be responsible for delivering practical and theoretical knowledge in garment cutting, stitching, and finishing techniques, ensuring trainees achieve employable skills or are ready for self-employment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct practical and theory classes in Cutting & Tailoring as per approved curriculum.
• Train students in pattern making, fabric cutting, stitching, fitting, and finishing.
• Demonstrate use of sewing machines (manual & electric) and tailoring tools.
• Guide trainees in making garments such as salwar suits, blouses, kurtis, trousers, and basic designer wear.
• Maintain training records, attendance, and trainee progress reports.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of training equipment and machines.
• Prepare trainees for assessments, certification, and self-employment opportunities.
• Follow safety, hygiene, and quality standards in the training lab.

Eligibility & Qualifications:

• Certificate/Diploma in Cutting & Tailoring / Fashion Designing / Garment Technology.
• Minimum 2–5 years of hands-on tailoring and teaching experience.
• Experience in skill development programs (PMKVY / CSR / NGO projects) will be preferred.
• Good communication and demonstration skills.
• Ability to train women, youth, and SHG/JLG participants.

Skills Required:

• Strong knowledge of garment construction & measurements.
• Pattern drafting and fabric handling skills.
• Patience, mentoring ability, and trainee-focused teaching approach.
• Basic record-keeping and reporting skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹14,652.65 - ₹16,000.00 per month
