You are a skilled and passionate Tandoor Cook with extensive experience operating and maintaining a tandoor oven, preparing authentic tandoori dishes with precision and consistency. Your role involves marinating, skewering, and cooking meats, vegetables, and breads to perfection to meet the high-quality and flavorful standards of the restaurant. Responsibilities: - Expertly operate and manage the tandoor oven, maintaining optimal cooking temperature. - Prepare a variety of tandoori dishes such as tandoori chicken, lamb tikka, paneer tikka, naan, and roti. - Marinate meats, poultry, seafood, and vegetables following established recipes. - Skewer and cook items in the tandoor ensuring even cooking and desired texture. - Monitor cooking times and temperatures to avoid overcooking or undercooking. - Ensure dishes are prepared and presented according to plating guidelines. - Maintain a clean and organized work station, adhering to food safety regulations. - Assist in ingredient preparation and collaborate with kitchen staff for efficient service. - Monitor tandoor-specific ingredient inventory levels and communicate needs to management. - Maintain the tandoor oven in good working condition and report maintenance issues. Qualifications: - Proven experience as a Tandoor Cook in a restaurant. - Thorough knowledge of tandoori cooking techniques and recipes. - Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under high-pressure situations. - Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices. - Excellent knife skills, accuracy in following recipes, and good communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: - Formal culinary training or certification. - Experience with different regional variations of tandoori cuisine.
