System Engineer – Automotive FOTA & Remote Diagnostics

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented System Engineer with strong experience in Automotive FOTA & Remote Diagnostics. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to define requirements and design FOTA & diagnostic functions. Technically manage supplier, ensure integration, and validate feature performance in compliance with OEM standards.

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Analyze and define requirements for FOTA and remote diagnostics.
• Develop system-level interface specifications between ECUs.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and UDS standards (e.g., ISO 14229).
• Define diagnostic requirement for IVI functions.
• Collaborate with software team for the successful realization of diagnostic features.

• Knowledge of FOTA Architecture and FOTA specifications for Automotive.
• Understanding of secure flashing, authentication, encryption, secure boot, rollback and failsafe mechanisms.
• Strong knowledge of automotive communication protocols such as CAN, CAN-FD, Ethernet.
• Expertise in DoIP (Diagnostic over IP, ISO 13400) for ethernet based diagnostics and flashing.
• Hands-on experience with UDS (ISO 14229) diagnostic services particularly for ECU-programming and FOTA.
• Awareness of ISO 21434 (Cyber security) and ISO 26262 (Functional safety) requirements in FOTA context.
• Experience in development with Tier1 supplier.
• Proficiency in requirement engineering and writing specifications for automotive ECUs
• Document and communicate specifications, design decisions, and implement guidelines to stakeholders and team members.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Fluent in English
