Job Title: System Architect & Lead Designer AI-Enabled Camera Module Development

Location: Bengaluru

Experience Level: 10+ years (minimum 5 years in camera / embedded system design)

Type: Full-Time / Project-Based Technical Leadership Role

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced System Architect and Designer to lead the end-to-end design,

development, and validation of an AI-enabled, mid/high-resolution camera module.

The ideal candidate will own system definition, hardware–software co-design, architecture trade-offs,

and drive the execution across all phases — from schematic design to PVT handoff.

This role is central to building India’s next-generation camera platform with integrated ISP, NPU,

Encoder, PoE, Ethernet, and Edge-AI capabilities, in collaboration partners and high performant

team.

Key Responsibilities

System Architecture & Planning

  • Define overall hardware–software architecture for the camera module (SoC, Sensor, ISP,

DDR, NPU, power tree, and connectivity).

  • Finalize system specifications, performance targets, and test matrices in collaboration with

cross-functional teams.

  • Conduct architectural trade-offs for cost, performance, and power; ensure design meets

compliance (STQC/BIS/IP66).

Hardware & Firmware Development Leadership

  • Oversee schematic design and PCB layout (REV-A) including EMI/ESD and thermal

considerations.

  • Drive component selection (sensors, PoE controllers, PMICs, DDR, and optics).
  • Supervise bring-up, hardware validation, and debug of the first prototypes.
  • Drive firmware team for bootloader, secure boot, kernel bring-up, and OTA update

mechanisms. Ensure camera features are developed as per product requirements.

Software & AI Integration

  • Coordinate software stack integration with SOC company for ISP, NPU, Encoder, and AI

application layers.

  • Ensure compliance with video pipeline and AI inference latency requirements.
  • Collaborate on integration of computer vision use cases (e.g., anomaly detection, face/object

recognition).

  • Optional: Lead feasibility study of in-house AI accelerator IP development.

Validation & Compliance

  • Plan and execute EVT/DVT testing: electrical, functional, and environmental validation.
  • Own end-to-end compliance for STQC, BIS, IP66, and thermal / EMI standards.
  • Generate and maintain technical documentation, SDK guides, and release logs.

Execution & Delivery

  • Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team through weekly milestones (hardware, software,

testing).

  • Interface with external ODM / EMS partners for prototype assembly and PVT readiness.
  • Ensure schedule adherence for development roadmap.

Required Skills & Experience

Core Technical Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in embedded product design — 5+ years focused on camera

systems (CCTV, Automotive, or Industrial Vision).

  • Excellent understanding of Embedded Linux firmware programming, kernel modules and

device driver development, secure boot and file systems. Exposure to contemporary

Embedded Linux development environment and tools is a must.

  • Hands-on experience in building the system with following components is a plus:
  • SoC-based design (ARM or RISC-V platforms)
  • ISP tuning, image pipeline optimization
  • DDR / sensor interface design (MIPI-CSI2, I2C, I2S, Ethernet, USB3.0)
  • Power design (PoE, LDO, DC-DC converters)
  • Board bring-up and debugging (JTAG, serial, boundary scan)

Software & AI Exposure

  • Experience integrating SDKs for one of similar SoC platforms (Rockchip / Novatek /

Ambarella / TI / NXP).

  • Knowledge of AI frameworks for camera use cases is a plus (TensorRT, RKNN, OpenVINO,

ONNX).

  • Understanding of computer vision algorithms, object detection, and real-time analytics

(bonus).

Validation & Standards

  • Prior exposure to compliance testing — STQC / BIS / IP66 / EMI–ESD qualification.
  • Experience with product lifecycle management — EVT, DVT, PVT, and mass production

transfer.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Proven ability to work with vendors, SoC partners, and contract manufacturers.
  • Capable of mentoring engineers across hardware, firmware, and validation tracks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • B.E / B.Tech / M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, or Computer Engineering.
  • Experience working with Taiwanese or Chinese SoC vendors on camera modules.
  • Exposure to Edge-AI vision systems or smart surveillance product development.
  • Hands-on debugging using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and firmware tools.
