Job Description

About The Role

We are urgently hiring an experienced IBM MQ Administrator to join our infrastructure and middleware team. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on expertise in IBM MQ, IBM WebSphere, Tomcat, AppConnect, and other enterprise middleware components. You will be responsible for the setup, configuration, monitoring, and support of messaging middleware in a large-scale enterprise environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, configure, and maintain IBM MQ environments across development, QA, and production environments.
  • Manage and troubleshoot IBM WebSphere, Apache Tomcat, JBoss, AppConnect, and other middleware platforms.
  • Perform capacity planning, tuning, and upgrades of middleware components.
  • Monitor system performance and ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deploy and support middleware applications.
  • Automate routine tasks and develop tools/scripts to improve operational efficiency.
  • Provide L2/L3 support, including incident resolution and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain documentation for all configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guidelines.

Required Skills

  • 8+ years of experience in middleware administration with a focus on IBM MQ.
  • Strong experience in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and Apache Tomcat.
  • Proficiency in AppConnect Enterprise, JBoss, and Apache HTTP Server.
  • Hands-on experience in deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of messaging and application servers.
  • Familiarity with scripting (Shell, Python, or similar) for automation and monitoring.

Good To Have

  • Exposure to IIS (Internet Information Services) and additional WAS components.
  • Experience in cloud environments or containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Knowledge of DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines.
