The System Administrator is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and securing the organization’s IT infrastructure. This includes servers, networks, and operating systems. The role ensures that systems run efficiently, securely, and are available to support business operations with minimal downtime.
Install, configure, and maintain physical and virtual servers, desktops, and other IT infrastructure
Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls
Monitor system performance and ensure availability and reliability
Apply OS patches, updates, and perform upgrades to maintain system security and stability
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and networking issues
Implement and manage backup and disaster recovery solutions
Maintain security through firewalls, antivirus software, and regular system audits
Maintain documentation of systems, configurations, procedures, and changes
Collaborate with IT team members and departments on infrastructure projects
Provide technical support and guidance to internal users
Strong knowledge of Windows and/or Linux operating systems
Experience with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V)
Familiarity with networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, VPNs)
Proficiency with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
Hands-on experience with backup/recovery tools and system monitoring software
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
