Sweeper And Litter Picker Mechanic – Service Technician

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Service Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanized road sweepers and litter picking equipment. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in mechanical systems, electrical diagnostics, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems. This role involves field visits for installation, preventive maintenance, emergency breakdowns, and training support for customers. Key Responsibilities: Perform installation and commissioning of regenerative air sweepers, mechanical sweepers, and litter-picking units. Conduct preventive maintenance, servicing, and repairs as per defined schedules or customer calls. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults in equipment. Maintain detailed service records and generate service reports post every visit. Coordinate with the service coordinator for parts planning and logistics for field jobs. Train end-users/operators on basic machine usage, care, and safety protocols. Assist in pre-delivery inspections (PDI), retrofits, and upgrades of existing equipment. Ensure timely closure of complaints and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs). Identify recurring issues and provide feedback to R&D/Engineering for product improvements. Maintain safety protocols and cleanliness of work sites, tools, and service vehicles. Required Skills and Experience: ITI / Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile. 2–5 years of hands-on service experience in mobile equipment, municipal machinery, construction equipment, or specialty vehicles. Good understanding of diesel engines, vehicle chassis, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems. Ability to read mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and service manuals. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal communication skills. Willingness to travel extensively for field service operations. Preferred Qualities: Prior experience in servicing sweepers, garbage tippers, super suckers, or similar municipal equipment. Exposure to working with municipal bodies, urban local bodies (ULBs), or contractors. Fluency in Hindi, English, and/or regional language. Work Conditions: Field-based role with frequent travel. May involve working outdoors, in municipal yards, or roadside job sites. Flexible working hours as per service demand. Compensation: Commensurate with experience + travel allowance + incentive for field closures.
