Sustainability Manager

1) Job Purpose

1. Carbon assessment scope1, scope2 & scope3 accounting & reporting.

2. Water balance studies, water efficiency and neutrality projects.

3. Circular economy concept, waste reduction goals and EPR compliance.

4. ESG reporting of environmental performance to management, regulatory bodies, ESG rating agencies and interested parties. E.g. BRSR, GRI, CDP, TCFD, DJSI, Eco Vadis

5. Collaborate with sourcing team for supply chain sustainability.

6. Understands and lead Climate risk assessment, Bio-diversity risk assessment and aspect impact study.

7. Collaborate with business units to gather necessary data inputs to assist with data collection protocols, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

8. Develop and implement controls and tools to improve the accuracy of ESG data and efficiency of ESG data collection.

9. Conduct variance analyses, highlighting key trends and patterns on ESG.

10. Assisting the team in carrying out environmental research and benchmarking to identify mitigation options for improving environmental performance in line with new standards.

11. Support in managing supplier engagement around sustainable procurement goals, Scope 3 and other reporting, as required.

12. Collaborate with cross-functional teams at all levels to accomplish shared project goals.

13. Develop, manage, and participate in other projects, as assigned.

The Sustainability Manager will play a crucial role in developing and executing sustainability roadmaps, ensuring compliance with national and global environmental regulations, and integrating sustainability into business strategy and operations.

This role involves collaborating with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to improve Thermaxs sustainability footprint, enhance reporting, and drive initiatives such as carbon footprint reduction, circular economy, green energy adoption, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs.

  Developing and executing strategies to reduce carbon emissions, improve energy efficiency, and enhance resource optimization.

  Ensuring transparent sustainability reporting and effectively communicating initiatives to investors, customers, and regulators.

• Regulatory & ESG Compliance

  Keeping up with evolving sustainability regulations (e.g., BRSR, GRI, TCFD, DJSI, Eco Vadis, SEBI guidelines) and ensuring organization-wide adherence.

3)Key Result Areas/Accountabilities

Sustainability Strategy & ESG Compliance

• Develop and execute sustainability roadmaps aligned with business and global environmental goals.
• Ensure compliance with ESG frameworks such as GRI, CDP, TCFD, SEBI-BRSR, Eco Vadis, DJSI and lead sustainability disclosures.
• Conduct materiality assessments to identify key environmental, social, and governance priorities.

Stakeholder Engagement & Sustainability Reporting

• Prepare annual sustainability reports, monitor key ESG metrics, and present findings to leadership and investors.
• Collaborate with industry associations, regulatory bodies, and sustainability partners to drive external engagement.
• Work closely with operations, finance, and HR teams to integrate sustainability goals across functions.

Carbon Footprint Reduction & Renewable Energy Adoption

• Implement GHG reduction strategies and drive carbon neutrality/net-zero initiatives.
• Promote renewable energy adoption, waste management, and water conservation across operations.
• Enhance circular economy initiatives, including sustainable procurement and responsible supply chain management.

4) Technical Competencies

• GHG Accounting & Carbon Neutrality Proficiency in Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions accounting and net-zero roadmaps.
• Sustainability Reporting & Data Analytics Experience in sustainability reporting tools, carbon footprint analysis, and lifecycle assessments (LCA).
• ESG & Sustainability Regulations Expertise in GRI, BRSR, SEBI, TCFD, CDP, DJSI, Eco Vadis, UN SDGs, and ISO 14001 frameworks.
