Supplier Sourcing/Development

As the Supplier Sourcing / Development Team Lead, you will play a crucial role in driving the strategic sourcing and development of suppliers in the sheet metal and machining categories. Your responsibilities will include: - Supplier Identification & Expansion: You will be responsible for identifying, evaluating, and developing new suppliers. Additionally, you will expand strategic partnerships through various sourcing strategies to ensure flexibility and scalability. - Supplier Capability Assessment: It will be your duty to rigorously assess suppliers based on 4M criteria (Man, Machine, Method, Material) for capability fit and risk profiling. - Onboarding & Compliance: You will manage end-to-end onboarding processes, including audits, documentation, and compliance to ensure supplier readiness. - NPD Readiness: Your role will involve driving 1st batch proven and ensuring timely completion of PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) for new suppliers/products. - Monitoring & Stabilization: You will track supplier performance post-onboarding, ensuring smooth ramp-up, delivery consistency, and issue resolution until stabilization. - Cost Benchmarking & Reduction: Leading cost benchmarking activities and collaborating with suppliers for cost reduction, VAVE projects, and localization initiatives will be part of your responsibilities. - Cross-functional Integration: Collaborating with internal NPD, QA, and Procurement teams to align sourcing with project milestones and technical requirements will be essential. - Mentoring & Leadership: You will guide and support manufacturing engineers in evaluating, developing, and managing suppliers in line with strategic goals. - Risk Mitigation: Ensuring robust risk mitigation practices, including dual sourcing and performance contingency plans for critical parts, will be crucial. Your Key Result Areas (KRAs) will include: - Strategic supplier network growth & diversification - NPD supplier readiness with on-time 1st batch delivery and PPAP sign-off - Supplier cost competitiveness & VAVE success - Supplier performance stabilization post-development - Risk mitigation via dual/multi-sourcing strategy Qualifications required for this role are: - Bachelor's degree in mechanical/manufacturing/industrial engineering (Masters preferred). - 10+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, supplier development, sourcing, and industrialization within sheet metal and machining environments. - Deep knowledge of manufacturing processes, tooling, and quality systems (PPAP, APQP, etc.). - Proven track record in cost reduction, localization, and supplier stabilization efforts. - Strong project management and cross-functional collaboration skills. - Experience in leading and mentoring technical teams.,
