Role Purpose: Key Accountabilities: Preferred Experience and Qualification: Role Title : Supplier Quality Assurance Engineer Role Purpose : Managing Supplier Quality. Working with (Reporting Relationship) Head Quality Assurance (OC) (Key Responsibilities) (Indicative -The role is bigger) As a Supplier Quality Engineer at our STL facility, you will develop, implement, and maintain quality improvement plans for direct product materials, production materials, and third-party suppliers. Your primary focus will be resolving significant quality issues and enhancing the quality of parts supplied to STL or directly to STL customers. In this role, you will conduct supplier audits to support supplier selection and management processes. You will also collaborate with the Supply Chain Management (SCM) team to create integration plans for new suppliers, monitor and evaluate supplier performance using quality metrics, and contribute to long-term strategies that ensure quality compliance and help meet financial and performance targets. Work closely with Commodity and Category Buyers to analyze supplier assessments and develop supplier capabilities to meet STL s quality and performance standards. Assess supplier capacity and process capabilities. Where deficiencies are found, coordinate with suppliers to develop and manage improvement plans. Develop and implement audit plans for strategic, new, third-party, and low-performing suppliers. Conduct audits that include Quality System Risk Assessments and Sustainability Surveys in alignment with STL procedures, guidelines, and scheduled plans. Ensure timely follow-up and closure of identified corrective actions. Oversee product inspection and testing at the supplier site with reference to drawings, Bill of Materials (BOM), and cosmetic specifications to ensure conformity prior to shipment to STL or direct delivery to STL customers. Ensure all inspection results are accurate, timely, and reliable. During sample audits, evaluate the supplier s process to confirm that it is correctly documented and implemented in accordance with approved procedures. Drive continuous improvement by incorporating best practices into both new systems and existing system enhancements. Provide retraining and support across various departments based on company needs. Prepare Product Discrepancy Reports (PDR) as needed. Promptly notify your immediate superior of any deviations from established quality standards and ensure corrective actions are taken. Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required. What we are looking for in you (Skills, Knowledge, Special Attributes, Mobility) Create and implement audit plans for strategic, new, third party and low-performing suppliers and complete audits with suppliers including quality system Risk Assessments and Sustainability Surveys consistent with STL procedures, guidelines, and scheduled plans. Follow-up with all identified corrective actions in a timely fashion. Excellent Knowledge on Optical Interconnect product. Excellent experience in the PPAP. Excellent knowledge of Molding with Engineering plastic, Sheet metal fabrication, Powder coating & Plating SAP knowledge. Six Sigma certification Experience working on Minitab. Certified Quality Engineer, or Certified Quality Auditor. Working knowledge and application of ISO Quality Standards Intimate familiarity with ISO9000/TL9000 Quality Systems with implementation or other applicable professional experience. Working knowledge of basic and advanced Quality tools such as; 7QC, FMEA, SPC, FMEA, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis, Poke Yoke, Kaizen Lean Manufacturing etc. Experience with developing/documenting procedures. Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection. Ability to coordinate with teams across departments and/or cross functional personnel. Ability to articulate (verbally & in writing), defend and negotiate Quality expectations with internal and external customers. Ability to drive technical and cultural changes where required. Location Dadra ( Needs frequent travel to suppliers) Experience & Education Minimum Qualifications & Critical Exposure to Perform the Job at the Optimum Level Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related degree with a minimum of 4-6 years of experience working with supplier quality improvement, supplier development, quality audits and Inspections in a manufacturing-related environment. Experience in using Lean Six Sigma tools.
