Sub Section Head - Electrical Maintenance

As the Section Head - SMS - Electrical Maintenance - Steel at Welspun, you will play a crucial role in leading the Electrical & Automation department across various units of the integrated steel plant. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the Steel Melting Shop (SMS), Continuous Casting Plant (CCP), Rolling Mill, Bright Bar Plant, and Seamless Pipe Plant. You will be tasked with ensuring the reliability, safety, and productivity of heavy industrial electrical systems, plant automation, process instrumentation, and digital transformation strategies. Your main accountabilities will involve leading and managing the Electrical & Automation teams across all production units, developing strategies to enhance plant efficiency and energy optimization, and driving modernization initiatives such as Industry 4.0, SCADA, PLC/DCS upgrades, and smart maintenance practices. You will be responsible for maintaining the high availability and performance of electrical equipment and overseeing the optimization of automation systems in various units. Additionally, you will be involved in planning and executing preventive and predictive maintenance schedules, managing annual budgets for the Electrical & Automation department, and identifying cost-saving initiatives through energy efficiency and technology upgrades. Leading electrical and automation projects, ensuring compliance with statutory and safety regulations, and building a high-performing team of engineers and technicians will also be key aspects of your role. Your interactions will primarily be with Senior Management, involving strategic planning, internal and external communication, and team leadership. With your 18 years of experience, your competency in handling such responsibilities will be vital to the success of the department and the overall operations at Welspun.,
