Structural Designer General Manager

The General Manager Structural Engineering will lead and oversee all structural design, analysis, and execution activities across residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects. The incumbent will ensure that all structures are designed and constructed in compliance with local codes, safety standards, and the companys quality benchmarks while optimizing cost and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic & Leadership

• Lead the structural engineering team and coordinate with architecture, MEP, and project management departments.
• Provide technical direction and ensure design excellence across all ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Develop and implement structural engineering policies, processes, and best practices aligned with company goals.
• Mentor and train junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.

2. Design & Technical Management

• Review and approve structural design calculations, drawings, and BOQs prepared by in-house or external consultants.
• Ensure structural designs meet performance, safety, and sustainability criteria.
• Collaborate with architects to achieve optimal structural solutions that align with aesthetic and functional objectives.
• Evaluate and approve materials, technologies, and construction methodologies.

3. Project Execution & Coordination

• Work closely with project managers during construction to resolve technical issues and ensure structural integrity.
• Conduct periodic site inspections to monitor construction quality and adherence to design specifications.
• Coordinate with third-party consultants, contractors, and statutory authorities for design approvals and compliance.

4. Budgeting & Value Engineering

• Optimize structural systems for cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality or safety.
• Review material consumption, and identify opportunities for cost savings through efficient design and technology.
• Support tendering processes by providing technical inputs and structural cost assessments.

5. Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure all structural designs comply with applicable building codes, local regulations, and international standards (e.g., IS, NBC, ASCE, ACI, Eurocode).
• Conduct risk assessments for complex or high-rise structures and propose mitigation strategies.
• Oversee periodic audits of structural safety across the company’s project portfolio.

Qualifications & Experience

• Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• Minimum

  12–15 years

  of experience in structural design and project execution, with at least

  5 years in a leadership role

  .
• Proven experience in large-scale real estate or mixed-use developments.
• Strong knowledge of design software (STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.).
• Deep understanding of Indian / international codes and construction practices.
