Key Responsibilities:1. Operations & Maintenance:
- Operate and monitor STP/ETP processes including biological, chemical, and mechanical systems.
- Ensure proper functioning of aeration tanks, clarifiers, filters, pumps, blowers, dosing systems, etc.
- Maintain optimal parameters like pH, BOD, COD, TSS, and flow rates.
- Schedule and perform preventive and breakdown maintenance.
2. Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure compliance with norms of the Pollution Control Board (CPCB/SPCB).
- Maintain records of treated water quality, flow data, and chemical usage.
- Coordinate with environmental consultants for audits and reports.
- Assist in obtaining/renewing Consent to Operate (CTO) and Consent to Establish (CTE).
3. Testing & Monitoring:
- Conduct regular sampling and testing of inlet and outlet water.
- Record and interpret lab reports of treated effluent/sewage.
- Take corrective actions in case of deviation from parameters.
4. Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain daily logbooks, operation records, and maintenance reports.
- Prepare monthly ETP/STP performance reports.
- Submit compliance reports to management and statutory authorities.
5. Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and energy/water savings.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of treatment chemicals and suggest alternatives.
- Support implementation of upgrades or expansions of the plant.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Education: Diploma/Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or relevant technical qualification.
- Experience: 3–7 years of hands-on experience in operating and maintaining STP/ETP.
- Knowledge of Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD), RO, MEE, or tertiary treatment (for advanced roles) is a plus.
- Familiarity with ISO 14001, EHS standards, and statutory regulations.
