Job Description

roles and responsibilities of store staff in a retail store: 1. Sales Associate / Customer Service StaffGreet customers and assist them in finding products. Provide product knowledge and answer customer queries. Upsell and cross-sell items to increase sales. Handle billing and cash transactions at POS. Resolve basic customer complaints politely. 2. CashierOperate billing counters and maintain accurate cash transactions. Process payments (cash, card, UPI, etc.). Issue receipts and maintain daily sales records. Balance cash drawer at the end of shift. 3. Store Helper / Floor StaffArrange merchandise on shelves as per planogram. Ensure cleanliness and proper display of products. Assist in stock movement from warehouse to floor. Help customers carry goods when required. 4. Inventory / Stock StaffReceive, check, and store incoming goods. Maintain stock records and report shortages. Monitor expiry dates and product damages. Support in stock audits and inventory counts. 5. Visual MerchandiserSet up attractive product displays. Arrange mannequins, signage, and promotional material. Ensure store looks appealing to attract customers. 6. Security StaffMonitor entry and exit of customers. Prevent shoplifting and handle loss prevention. Ensure safety of staff and customers inside the store. ✅ Overall Responsibilities of Store Staff Deliver excellent customer service. Maintain store cleanliness, safety, and orderliness. Achieve sales targets and support store operations. Follow company policies, grooming standards, and teamwork.
