Store Keeper

The Store Keeper is a key position responsible for overseeing all aspects of inventory management and procurement activities within Gunpowder Restaurant. The role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth functioning of the establishment by effectively managing the flow of supplies and ensuring the availability of high-quality products while adhering to budgets. The Store Keeper will be responsible for maintaining optimal stock levels, sourcing reliable suppliers, negotiating contracts, and implementing efficient inventory control systems to minimize, overstocking, wastage and costs.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management and operations

• Monitor and maintain adequate stock levels of food items, beverages, kitchen supplies, housekeeping, and other essential materials necessary for the restaurant's operation.
• Conduct regular stock audits, assess inventory turnover, and identify slow-moving or expired items.
• Collaborate with the kitchen and restaurant management to forecast demand and plan for seasonal fluctuations.
• Ensure that all items moving in and out of the operations and their transaction are entered into inventory management software.
• Tasks as assigned by ownership and management of Gunpowder Restaurants
• Ensure that out of turn and unplanned purchases are minimized.
• Cost of transportation for local purchases are to be minimized by planning ahead.

Supplier Sourcing and Management

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, pricing, reliability, and timely delivery.
• Negotiate contracts and terms of agreements with suppliers to secure favourable deals for the restaurant.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring effective communication and resolution of any supply-related issues.

Purchase and Cost Control

• Prepare and place purchase orders, ensuring accuracy in quantity, quality, and pricing.
• Check receiving of goods to ensure that they meet establish quality standards.
• Analyse pricing trends and seek cost-effective alternatives without compromising quality.
• Ensure that all bill and invoices match purchase orders and contracted prices and are sent daily to accounts for filing.
• Implement cost control measures to reduce expenses and minimize wastage.

Budgeting and Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets related to inventory and procurement.
• Provide regular reports and updates on inventory levels, purchases, and cost fluctuations to the management team.

Compliance and Safety

• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations regarding the storage of perishable items and non-food supplies.
• Monitor the expiry dates of perishable items and implement the First-In-First-Out (FIFO) method to maintain product freshness.Team Management
• Lead and supervise a team of storekeepers and purchase assistants, providing guidance and support in their daily tasks.
• Conduct training sessions to enhance their skills and knowledge of inventory management practices.

Continuous Improvement

• Stay updated with industry trends, new products, and innovations in inventory management and purchasing techniques.
• Implement best practices and process improvements to optimize operations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
