Store Assistant

As a Store Assistant within our food manufacturing or bakery industry, your role will be pivotal in ensuring the efficient storage and management of our products from production to delivery. Your proactive and organized approach will be essential in maintaining daily store operations, inventory, and compliance with food safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities: - Inventory Management: Accurately track and manage all incoming and outgoing raw materials and finished goods. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile discrepancies to maintain precise inventory records. - Receiving and Dispatching: Inspect all deliveries for quality and quantity, ensuring they meet our standards. Prepare and package products for dispatch, verifying the completeness and accuracy of orders before they leave the facility. - Stock Rotation (FIFO/FEFO): Implement and enforce a strict First-In, First-Out (FIFO) or First-Expiry, First-Out (FEFO) system to minimize waste and ensure product freshness. - Store Organization: Maintain a clean, safe, and organized store and storage area. Ensure all products are correctly labeled and stored in their designated locations according to food safety regulations. - Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all stock movements, including receiving slips, dispatch notes, and inventory reports. - Compliance: Adhere to all company policies and procedures, emphasizing food safety, hygiene, and quality control standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP). - Equipment Maintenance: Promptly report any issues with store equipment or machinery to the maintenance team. Qualifications: - Experience: 2-5 years of proven experience as a Store Assistant, Storekeeper, or similar role within the food manufacturing or bakery industry. - Knowledge: Solid understanding of inventory management principles, stock rotation (FIFO/FEFO), and food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP). - Skills: - Strong organizational and time-management skills. - Proficiency in using inventory management software or systems. - Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy. - Ability to lift and move heavy items as required. - Effective communication skills. - Attributes: Reliable, proactive, and a strong team player.
