Job Description

Job Summary:

As a Steward, you’ll be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, bar, and back-of-house areas. Your role is essential in ensuring the smooth flow of operations during service and maintaining the health and safety standards of the venue.

Key Responsibilities: Cleaning & Maintenance

Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, and kitchen equipment
Keep kitchen and bar prep areas clean, dry, and organized
Ensure proper segregation and disposal of kitchen waste
Clean floors, walls, and storage areas regularly as per cleaning schedules

Support & Stocking

Assist in setting up clean plates, cutlery, and glassware for bar and kitchen use
Replenish handwash, sanitizers, and cleaning materials as needed
Help in unloading, moving, and organizing deliveries in storage areas

Equipment Handling

Use dishwashing machines and manual cleaning tools safely and efficiently
Report any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs immediately

Hygiene & Safety

Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene protocols (e.g., HACCP)
Wear proper uniform, gloves, and safety gear during all tasks
Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards

Qualifications:

Previous experience as a steward or kitchen helper preferred (not mandatory)
Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
Flexible availability for evening, late-night, weekend, and holiday shifts
