Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Direct the day-to-day activities of the melting, moulding, core-making, pouring, and finishing departments.
  • Production Planning: Develop and execute production schedules using ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) to maximize furnace utilization and labour efficiency.
  • Metallurgical Oversight: Ensure chemistry and temperature controls are strictly followed for various grades (e.g., Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Manganese Steel).
  • Continuous Improvement: Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to reduce scrap rates and optimize energy consumption.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce OSHA/EHS standards and ensure the facility meets environmental regulations regarding emissions and waste.
  • Team Development: Mentor a multi-disciplinary team of supervisors, engineers, and floor operators; manage labour relations and training programs.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy, Materials Science, or Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8–15 years in a foundry environment, with at least 5-10 years in a senior management or supervisory role.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of induction furnace operations, sand systems, investment casting, and heat treatment processes.
  • Software Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, MS Office, and ideally CAD/CAM or solidification modeling software (e.g., MAGMA5).

  • Hard Skills: Production Planning, Quality Control (ISO 9001), Cost Management, Equipment Maintenance (TPM).
  • Soft Skills: High-stakes decision-making, crisis management, and cross-functional communication.
  • Preferred Certifications: * Lean Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional)
  • CPIM (Certified in Production and Inventory Management)

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Success in this role is measured by:

  • Scrap/Reject Rate: Keeping casting defects (porosity, inclusions).
  • Production Attainment: 100% of orders completed on or before the scheduled date.
  • OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness): Maximizing the availability and performance of furnaces and automated lines.
  • Cost per Ton: Managing energy and raw material (scrap/alloy) inputs effectively.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
