A few of our many successes in India include finding new methods to deliver nutritious food to school children, creating and implementing successful public-private partnership models to combat diseases, and expanding access to lifesaving vaccines for new mothers and their infants.

About the Project: To assist the National AIDS Control Program achieve 95 – 95 – 95 targets, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) along with US Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) India has been entrusted the responsibility of improving lifesaving HIV treatment activities, enhancing HIV case finding and providing critical HIV services in PEPFAR geographies in India. One such initiative is Project Sashakt implemented by PATH, which supports the National and State AIDS Control Program in Northeast (Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical mentoring to the target ART centres/ Treatment sites through regular site visits to help program to achieve UNAIDS 95-95-95 targets.
  • Ensure implementation of ART Services as per prescribed technical guidelines of National AIDS Control Program at the target ART centres.
  • Work with ART sites to achieve highest retention of PLHIV in the program.
  • Work with ART sites to ensure adherence to the highest standards of quality and excellence in patient care and follow good clinical practices at target ART centres.
  • Improve the quality of HIV-TB coordination activities at the target ART centres.
  • Plan & participate SACEP/Tele-SACEP in coordination with SACS, Coe/ART Plus Centres
  • Identify various capacity building needs of the ART staff and plan appropriate training programs.
  • Identify, propose and support implementation of newer differentiated ART delivery models in the state to saturate ART coverage.
  • Strengthen private sector engagement through physical visits to private practitioners/NGOs in coordination with other team members.
  • Provide technical inputs in quarterly review meetings of CST division.
  • Coordinate with team members under prevention component to plan strategies for fulfilling the current gaps in the program.

Required Qualifications
  • Preferably MBBS/AYUSH degree; and /or MPH/MBA
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience on working in HIV/AIDS program at state/ national level.
  • Should have prior experience of program implementation and capacity building.
  • Should have good operational and coordination experience of working with state/district health departments.
  • Computer knowledge and proficiency in English and local language.
  • Capacity to think creatively in dealing with policy and operational issues while maintaining a strong results-oriented approach.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Should be a team player.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure from tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter, adaptable and able to work as part of a cross-cutting and multi-cultural team.
  • Open to travel to project sites for extended periods if required.
