Description
As a Legal Manager, your role involves overseeing various legal aspects related to mortgage and property transactions. Your responsibilities will include: - Scrutinizing and approving title search reports, revenue records, and online verification of land records from relevant agencies. - Providing guidance to the business team on accepting title search reports for mortgage/security creation. - Advising on stamp duty requirements for legal documents in compliance with policies/circulars. - Conducting random checks monthly to ensure the quality of reports and valuations. - Analyzing and approving legal deviations based on risk assessment and business needs. - Identifying and highlighting risks associated with collateral security and mortgage creation. - Coordinating with external lawyers to investigate property titles, address title issues, and expedite security creation processes. - Drafting and reviewing non-standard legal documents such as declarations, NOCs, affidavits related to mortgage and security creation. - Customizing legal documentation requirements as per state regulations and ensuring compliance across branches. - Providing feedback on legal policies and operational guidelines, and raising risk alerts as necessary. - Conducting due diligence on project files, including title appraisal, licenses, and litigation assessment. - Advising on enforcement of securities interest and providing support in litigation matters. - Structuring lending arrangements with builders and drafting replies to legal notices and complaints. - Conducting training sessions for credit, operations, and sales teams on mortgage legal aspects. - Maintaining records and MIS of all cases, including legal deviation approvals and list of empanelled advocates. - Handling retail litigations, including matters related to RERA, consumer disputes, and criminal complaints. Your qualifications for this role include a Graduate or Masters Postgraduate degree.
