Staff Nurse (ICU)

Job Description

Monitoring Vital Signs: Continuously monitoring patient's vital signs (heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, etc.) and reporting any significant changes to the healthcare team. Medication Management: Administering medications (oral, IV, etc.) as ordered by the physician, ensuring correct dosages and timing. Equipment Management: Operating and managing life support equipment (ventilators, IV pumps, etc.). Patient Care: Providing basic nursing care, such as assisting with mobility, hygiene, and feeding. Documentation: Accurately and thoroughly documenting patient assessments, interventions, and responses. Collaboration: Working collaboratively with physicians, other nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals. Communication: Communicating effectively with patients, families, and other members of the healthcare team. Education: Providing patient and family education regarding their condition and treatment plan. Emergency Response: Responding quickly and effectively to emergency situations (e.g., cardiac arrest). Advocacy: Advocating for patients' rights and needs. Patient Safety: Prioritizing patient safety and ensuring proper implementation of safety protocols. ICU nurses often work in a high-pressure environment and require strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills. They need to be able to quickly assess patient conditions, make decisions, and implement appropriate interventions to stabilize and improve patient outcomes.
