Staff Nurse

Job Summary:

The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The role involves direct patient care, assisting doctors, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and maintaining accurate medical records in line with hospital policies and standards.

Key Roles & Responsibilities:Patient Care

• Provide direct nursing care to patients (bathing, feeding, mobility support, etc.).
• Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors.
• Assist in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Ensure patients’ comfort, dignity, and emotional support.

Clinical Duties

• Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Prepare and maintain operation theatre / procedure rooms when required.
• Maintain infection control and follow hospital safety protocols.
• Collect specimens and send them to the laboratory for analysis.
• Operate and monitor medical equipment safely.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and timely patient records, charts, and reports.
• Update nursing notes and care plans regularly.
• Report patient status, incidents, or emergencies promptly to doctors/supervisors.

Emergency Care

• Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations (CPR, first aid, code blue, etc.).
• Assist in stabilizing critical patients until further medical intervention is available.

Coordination & Teamwork

• Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals, and fellow nurses for holistic patient care.
• Provide guidance and support to nursing aides/junior staff.
• Participate in shift handovers and communicate important patient updates.

Education & Counseling

• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care.
• Promote health awareness and preventive care practices.

Administrative Duties

• Maintain stock of medicines, consumables, and equipment in the ward/department.
• Ensure proper waste segregation and biomedical waste management.
• Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and code of ethics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to ₹18,000.00 per month
