Job Summary: The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. The role involves direct patient care, assisting doctors, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, and maintaining accurate medical records in line with hospital policies and standards. Key Roles & Responsibilities:Patient Care Provide direct nursing care to patients (bathing, feeding, mobility support, etc.). Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by doctors. Assist in patient admissions, transfers, and discharges. Ensure patients’ comfort, dignity, and emotional support. Clinical Duties Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and treatments. Prepare and maintain operation theatre / procedure rooms when required. Maintain infection control and follow hospital safety protocols. Collect specimens and send them to the laboratory for analysis. Operate and monitor medical equipment safely. Report patient status, incidents, or emergencies promptly to doctors/supervisors. Emergency Care Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations (CPR, first aid, code blue, etc.). Assist in stabilizing critical patients until further medical intervention is available. Coordination & Teamwork Collaborate with doctors, allied health professionals, and fellow nurses for holistic patient care. Provide guidance and support to nursing aides/junior staff. Participate in shift handovers and communicate important patient updates. Education & Counseling Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care. Ensure proper waste segregation and biomedical waste management. Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and code of ethics.
