Staff Engineer - Oracle Retail Xstore

As a Staff Engineer, you will serve as the technical lead for Oracle Xstore POS deployments across 4000+ stores globally. You will be responsible for driving deployment strategy, improving processes, mentoring engineers, and ensuring the reliability and scalability of store software rollouts. This is a senior-level role that combines deep technical expertise with leadership and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as the technical authority for Oracle Xstore POS deployments in India.
• Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of deployment processes and tools.
• Collaborate with global teams to align deployment strategies and ensure consistency across regions.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineers, helping grow talent within the team.
• Troubleshoot complex deployment issues and lead root cause analysis and resolution.
• Optimize deployment automation using tools such as PPM, Xadmin, and Control-M.
• Work closely with Oracle systems including Xcenter, Xoffice, and Oracle Database.
• Contribute to the development of monitoring and validation tools to ensure deployment success.
• Partner with Engineering Managers and Product teams to align on goals and delivery timelines.
• Champion DevSecOps practices and ensure secure, reliable deployment pipelines.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering or deployment, with a strong focus on retail systems.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle Xstore POS in a production environment.
• Proven experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineers.
• Deep understanding of retail operations, store systems, and in-store technologies.
• Expertise in deployment tools such as PPM, Xadmin, and Control-M.
• Strong knowledge of Oracle Database, including performance tuning and scripting.
• Experience with Xcenter and Xoffice platforms.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to lead during high-pressure deployment windows.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in global teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with DevOps/CI-CD practices and automation frameworks.
• Familiarity with Azure or other cloud platforms.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to monitoring and analytics tools is a plus.
