Job Description

As part of the Marketing Systems team at Stripe, you will be responsible for owning systems that power go-to-market motions by productizing gathered insights and intelligence. Your role will involve designing, building, and maintaining robust and high-performance APIs and services to ensure scalability, reliability, and meeting SLAs for both internal and external users. You will collaborate with engineers, analysts, and scientists to build scalable systems, deliver delightful developer experiences, and create comprehensive interfaces. Additionally, you will be involved in debugging production issues, improving engineering standards, tooling, and processes. Key Responsibilities: - Design, build, and maintain high-performance APIs and services - Ensure infrastructure is extensible, scalable, and reliable - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver delightful developer experiences - Build APIs powering internal stakeholder-facing UI experiences - Debug production issues and improve maintainability - Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes Qualifications Required: - Minimum of 10 years of experience in designing and operating large-scale APIs and services - Experience leading technical projects with significant business impact - Strong decision-making skills on technology and architecture - Ability to balance software best practices, system realities, and stakeholder concerns - Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of learning - Excellent communication skills, both oral and written In addition to the minimum requirements, the following qualifications are preferred but not mandatory: - Experience in marketing domain building products for marketing tech stack - Familiarity with machine learning, recommender systems, product-led growth, and/or lifecycle marketing - Prior experience in building distributed systems or microservices architecture Please note the in-office expectations where Stripes in most locations are expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the office or with users. The exact percentage may vary based on role, team, and location, with some roles requiring 100% in-office work.
