Job Description

The marketing systems team at Stripe is dedicated to developing a highly measurable, cross-channel messaging capability to engage customers effectively. As a part of this team, you will play a crucial role in owning and enhancing systems that drive go-to-market strategies and leverage gathered insights to boost marketing effectiveness. Your responsibilities will include designing and maintaining APIs and services, ensuring scalable and reliable infrastructure, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable systems, and improving engineering standards and processes. As a qualified candidate, you should have at least 10 years of experience in designing and operating large-scale APIs and services. For the Staff role, you should have the ability to lead technical projects, make informed decisions on technology and architecture, contribute to core interface design, and mentor engineers at all levels. You should be adept at balancing software best practices, system realities, stakeholder concerns, and user needs to address complex problems effectively. Preferred qualifications include experience in the marketing domain, familiarity with machine learning and product-led growth, and prior experience in building distributed systems or microservices architecture. You should possess excellent oral and written communication skills, along with the ability to seek feedback, work holistically from specifications to implementation, and balance speed, complexity, and scope for user-centric solutions. Stripes working from office-assigned locations are typically expected to spend at least 50% of their time in the local office or with users. However, the in-office attendance requirement may vary based on role, team, and location. This approach aims to facilitate in-person collaboration and learning, while also allowing for flexibility as needed.
