Staff Embedded Software Engineer

Role Overview: As a Staff Embedded Software Engineer at Olympus Corporation, you will play a crucial role in the technical execution of embedded software development projects. Reporting to the Associate Director, your primary focus will be on providing technical leadership while also managing some project management responsibilities. You will collaborate closely with PMO to drive the design, development, and troubleshooting of embedded software systems for medical devices. Key Responsibilities: - Lead hands-on development and execution of embedded software, ensuring performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance throughout the project phases - Conduct detailed design reviews with internal teams and vendor partners to refine embedded software architectures and meet Olympus R&D objectives - Oversee the design, development, and deployment of embedded software and firmware for medical devices - Integrate embedded systems with hardware components, sensors, user interfaces, and communication protocols - Develop real-time, safety-critical systems focusing on reliability, efficiency, and performance - Implement advanced embedded software engineering techniques and validation processes - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of embedded software into product architecture - Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and vendor partners, aligning technical decisions with long-term innovation strategies - Communicate technical updates effectively with stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and vendor partners - Develop and validate test protocols for embedded software, ensuring robust, reliable, and scalable designs Qualifications Required: - A degree or higher qualification in Computer Science Engineering from a recognized university - Master's in Computer Science Engineering will be an added advantage - 10+ years of experience in embedded software development, with a mix of technical and managerial responsibilities - Strong technical expertise in embedded systems engineering, including experience in R&D and product development environments - Experience in medical device development is preferred - Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and assembly, with expertise in low-level hardware interaction and device drivers Additional Company Details: Olympus Corporation is a renowned leader in endoscopy enabled healthcare, with a rich history of pushing boundaries in medical, scientific, and imaging technology.
