Sr. Textile Merchandiser

Job Summary We are looking for a highly experienced and results-oriented individual in the textile industry. This role will involve overseeing a team and managing the complete end-to-end merchandising process for various products.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Analyzing market trends, customer behavior to anticipate fabric demands and identify textile mills or handlooms for fabric development.

• Understanding customer requirements and helping them to obtain the right fabrics at the right price.

• Managing the production time and action plan, coordinating with mills and ensure timely completion of orders.

• Oversee quality control checks on incoming fabrics and samples, ensuring they meet specified standards for durability, design specifications, lab dips (color samples) and color fastness.

• Manage and visit the dedicated list of mills for keeping updated on the latest fabric trends, material and technologies.

• Collaborate with various mills about printing, dying and count construction of the fabrics.

• Mentor merchandisers and guide them on merchandising practices.

Key Skills

• In-depth technical knowledge of textiles.

• Proficiency in costing, order management and negotiations.

• Excellent communication and coordination skills.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment and meeting the deadlines.

Qualification & Experience

• Bachelors / Masters degree in Textile Engineering / Technology, Fashion Designing/Diploma in Apparel Merchandising / Handloom Technology/ BBA, B.A, B.Com, B.Com (H) or related field.
