We are looking for a highly skilled Senior System Administrator / DevOps Engineer with strong expertise in AWS, Linux, DevOps workflows, Docker, and especially WordPress & WordPress Multisite management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hosting, troubleshooting, optimizing, and securing WordPress applications across various cloud and managed hosting platforms.
Key Responsibilities
AWS Infrastructure Management

Manage and optimize EC2 instances, security groups, EBS volumes, and networking.

Deploy and maintain ECS clusters (EC2 + Fargate).

Configure ELB/ALB, autoscaling, and fault-tolerant architectures.
-
Manage Elasticache (Redis/Memcached).
-
Work with OpenSearch (Elasticsearch).
-
Manage RDS (MariaDB/MySQL & Aurora).
-
Create and tune ASG policies.
-
Manage S3, CloudFront, and lifecycle rules.
-
Work with Elastic Transcoder for video workflows.
-
AWS CodeCommit, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy — CI/CD pipelines.

Create and maintain AMIs and Amazon Linux 2 systems.
Linux System Administration
-
Administer Amazon Linux, Ubuntu, and CentOS.
-
Mount and manage storage volumes.
-
Troubleshoot OS & performance issues.
-
Bash scripting for automation.
-
Configure automated backups and cron jobs.
Containerization & Orchestration
-
Build Docker images, networks, and multi-container stacks.
-
Write and optimize Docker Compose files.
-
Push/manage images in AWS ECR.
-
Deploy Docker workloads on ECS.
-
Experience with Docker Swarm (optional).
WordPress & Multisite Expertise (Mandatory)
This is a core skill requirement. The candidate must have deep practical experience in:
WordPress Hosting & Management

Deploy, configure, and maintain WordPress single-site and multisite installations.
-
Experience with high-traffic WordPress hosting setups.
-
Set up Nginx or Apache for WordPress performance optimization.
-
Configure php-fpm, caching layers, Redis object cache, OPCache, FastCGI, etc.
-
Manage WP-CLI for automation and troubleshooting.
-
Configure secure file permissions, read-only hosting, and hardening.
Troubleshooting & Performance
-
Debug plugin/theme conflicts, slow queries, server-level performance issues.
-
Investigate PHP errors, fatal errors, 5xx issues, resource overuse.
-
Identify issues using logs (Nginx/Apache, PHP-FPM, MySQL, CloudWatch, NewRelic).
Plugins & Custom Requirements

Handling common plugins (WooCommerce, membership systems, page builders).
-
Configure SSL, redirects, CDN integrations, and caching plugins.
-
Expert understanding of WordPress Multisite network setup and domain mapping.
Database Skills
-
Optimize MySQL/MariaDB for WordPress workloads.
-
Fix corrupted tables, slow queries, metadata locks, etc.
Application Deployment & Web Servers
-
Deploy WordPress, Laravel, Node.js apps using Nginx/Apache.
-
Configure Certbot (including standalone mode for Docker).
-
Proxy Node.js apps behind Nginx.
-
Experience with Bitnami WordPress stacks.
DevOps Tools & CI/CD

Setup development environments (LAMP, MAMP, Docker-based setups).
-
Manage GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket repositories.
-
Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
Cloud Hosting Providers
Hands-on experience with:

Qualifications

5+ years of System Admin / DevOps experience.

Strong Linux + AWS experience.

Deep WordPress (single + multisite) skills — mandatory.

Solid Docker and CI/CD expertise.

Ability to troubleshoot at OS, server, and application levels.
Preferred Skills
Terraform / IaC.
AWS ECS
