Job Description

Responsibilities

Support sourcing and supplier selection activities for new product development components and materials.

Partner with engineering, procurement, and category teams to identify suppliers capable of meeting quality, cost, and lead-time expectations.

Conduct detailed cost analysis, benchmarking, and should-cost modeling to support make-vs-buy and sourcing decisions.

Identify and integrate customer needs and decision-making criteria into category strategies to deliver innovative, value-driven solutions.

Apply advanced analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex challenges, make data-informed decisions, manage shifting priorities, and support business objectives.

Negotiate contracts, pricing, and dispute resolutions with suppliers to ensure favorable terms, mitigate risk, and protect the interests of HNI. Proven ability to successfully negotiate cross-functionally to build consensus.

Evaluate operational and financial risks within current and potential supply chains to ensure continuity, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals.

Drive supplier performance through structured tiered management, including deployment of targeted supplier development plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

Lead and build an effective team, driving partnership with cross-functional teams at all levels to advance category strategy.

Demonstrate strong technical project management skills with the ability to coordinate, manage, and ensure success of supply chain initiatives.

Utilize e-Procurement tools, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office applications to manage sourcing processes, track performance metrics, and support data-driven decisions.

Apply knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and material replenishment models to optimize trade-offs between cost, inventory, working capital, and space.

Demonstrate leadership by driving results and output within a collaborative team environment.

Participate in activities as appropriate to ensure the success of the organization.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, SCM, Production, Automobile Engineering required.

57 years of relevant experience in supply chain (Direct Procurement), sourcing, or new product development roles.
