Job Summary

Senior Software Engineer

While the role is primarily focused on the back end, you will also have opportunities to learn and contribute to front-end development and gain experience toward a full-stack engineering career path. Training will be provided for Solumina MES, enterprise integration frameworks, and internal tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Delivery

• Implement robust Solumina product configurations and technical extensions based on client requirements.
• Develop and maintain extensions using Solumina SDK (Java, Spring, REST APIs)
• Configure application UI using Solumina Configurator tools (training provided)
• Extend and configure Solumina interfaces to enable seamless data exchange with external enterprise systems such as ERP and PLM.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle: environment setup, coding, reviews, unit testing, debugging, and packaging for release.
• Deliver functionality through fast-paced, iterative development cycles while maintaining high code quality.

Upgrade Support

• Support Solumina upgrade by validating and refactoring extension for compatibility with new Solumina releases.
• Assist in environment setup, regression testing, and performance optimization during upgrade efforts.

Data-Related Support

• Design and build performant custom reports using SQL and supported reporting tools based on client-specific needs.
• Contribute to data migration by scripting, mapping schemas, and transforming legacy datasets for smooth adoption or upgrade.
• Investigate and resolve data quality or consistency issues across integrated systems.

Technical Collaboration

• Work with global technical leads, senior engineers, and business consultants to refine requirements, design scalable solution, and ensure timely delivery.
• Participate in code reviews, contribute to build pipelines, and support automation and integration testing efforts.
• Collaborate with QA, product developers, and architects to manage technical dependencies and continuously improve platform tooling.

Documentation & Support

• Write and maintain clear technical documentation for code, configurations, migration procedure, and deployment processes.
• Contribute to internal knowledge bases, reusable libraries, and delivery best practices.

Qualifications and Skills

Education

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience).

Experience

• 4+ years of experience in back-end software development.
• Experience with integration or enterprise systems preferred.
• Exposure to Solumina, MES platform, or complex manufacturing system is a plus (training provided).

Technical Skills

• Programming and Frameworks: Java, Spring Framework, REST APIs, Hibernate, XML, JSON
• Databases: Oracle, SQL Server, advanced SQL, database schema design and query optimization (a plus)
• Front-end (optional/learning path): JavaScript, React.js, Node.js, html/css
• Architecture Concepts: Microservices, message queues (JMS), API security
• Development Practices: Git, SDLC best practices, Agile methodology
• Nice to Have: CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, containerization tools, cloud environment (AWS/Azure), AI/ML exposure

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities
• Clear written communication for documentation and remote collaboration
• Ability to work independently with guidance from senior technical leads
• Willingness to learn and adopt new technologies
