Sr. Production Engineer

Role Overview:

The Senior Production Engineer will oversee daily production activities, ensuring smooth operations, quality output, and adherence to safety standards. The role requires strong technical expertise in steel modular furniture manufacturing, hands-on shop floor management, and coordination across departments to drive productivity, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and supervise the production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
  
• Plan, schedule, and monitor production to ensure timely delivery as per customer requirements.
  
• Optimize manpower, machines, and material utilization to minimize downtime and waste.
  
• Implement lean manufacturing practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
  
• Collaborate with QC, R&D, and Paint teams to ensure product quality and compliance with standards.
  
• Troubleshoot technical issues in machines, processes, and workflow.
  
• Ensure compliance with EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) guidelines and company policies.
  
• Train and mentor junior engineers, supervisors, and operators for skill development.
  
• Prepare daily/weekly/monthly production reports and present to Factory Head/Management.
  
• Drive cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
  

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication, welding, machining, and assembly processes.
  
• Experience in modular furniture or sheet metal industry preferred.
  
• Proficiency in production planning, process improvement, and resource management.
  
• Knowledge of lean tools (5S, Kaizen, Kanban, TPM) will be an advantage.
  
• Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and team management skills.
  
• Strong coordination and communication across departments.
  
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical/Production/Industrial Engineering (or related field).
  
• 5–8 years of experience in production, preferably in steel modular furniture or sheet metal industry.
  
• Hands-on exposure to ERP systems, production scheduling, and quality systems.
