The ideal candidate combines deep UX craft with strategic thinking, influencing not just product features but also the culture of design and execution across functions.This role reports to UX leadership and works across domains, partnering with global product, engineering, and AI/ML teams to deliver high-quality, human-centered solutions that serve HR professionals, payroll admins, and employees at scale.ShapeKey ResponsibilitiesStrategic Product InfluenceShape and influence product direction by working closely with Product, Engineering, and Data Science leaders.Champion user needs while balancing technical and business constraints to drive thoughtful, innovative product experiences.Serve as a strategic partner in roadmap planning and prioritization, especially for AI-powered and agent-driven experiences.AI, Agents & Intelligent ExperiencesLead the design of next-generation user experiences that incorporate predictive workflows, conversational agents, and proactive automation.Collaborate with AI/ML teams to translate capabilities into meaningful UX interactions.Ensure ethical and human-centered integration of AI features aligned with UKG's trust and compliance goals.Cross-Functional LeadershipDefine and implement ways-of-working with product and engineering teams across product lines.Establish and govern design process adherence, while enabling flexibility and innovation.Drive alignment across global teams and champion a collaborative design culture.Design Execution & Systems ThinkingOwn and deliver end-to-end UX from discovery to polished execution across web and mobile platforms.Create and advocate for scalable, reusable patterns through partnership with Design Systems teams.Apply strong systems thinking to manage complexity, especially across integrated enterprise platforms.Thought Leadership & MentorshipAct as a design mentor and coach for other principal and senior designers across teams.Contribute to the evolution of UKGs design culture, practices, and community globally.Represent India design leadership in global strategic initiatives and cross-org collaborations.ShapeRequired Qualifications12+ years of experience in UX/Product Design, with 35+ years at a Principal or Lead level in enterprise software.Demonstrated experience influencing product vision, defining design strategies, and creating frameworks that scale.Strong experience with AI-integrated design, conversational UX, and workflow optimization.Exceptional ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive consensus among diverse stakeholders.Strong visual and interaction design skills with deep experience in responsive web and native mobile platforms.Mastery of Figma and other design/prototyping tools; knowledge of front-end tech is a plus.Outstanding communication, storytelling, and facilitation skills.Bachelor's or Master's degree in HCI, Design, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field.Portfolio demonstrating complex, enterprise-grade solutions and leadership impact.ShapeNice to HaveDeep domain knowledge in HR, payroll, financial systems, or compliance-driven software.Experience in designing for international markets and ensuring accessibility and localization compliance.Familiarity with Agile and Lean UX practices at scale.ShapeWhy Join UKGPurpose-Driven Work: Shape products that improve the working lives of millions.Innovation at Scale: Work on complex systems that blend AI, human-centered design, and enterprise functionality.People-First Culture: Be part of an inclusive, collaborative, and global design community.Opportunity for Impact: Play a key leadership role in growing UKGs design presence in India.ShapeEqual Opportunity EmployerUKG is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and is committed to maintaining a diverse and inclusive work environment.
