Sr. Piping Lead Engineer

Role & responsibilities

To oversee working of a project team and ensure smooth execution of piping engineering deliverables aligned to the Business Unit's objectives. To ensure project deliverables are high quality, cost effective, and on time.

• Undertake contract review and requirements for piping engineering and ensure design basis is in line with project parameters.
• Plan actions for project cycle including documentation requirements, resource allocation, schedule planning, and work assignment for team members.
• Ensure design, documents, and detail engineering activities/ tasks are completed on schedule and in line with Quality Management Systems.
• Manage bottlenecks and project risk related to piping.
• Oversee closure of all Technical Queries Request (TQR), Design Change Request (DCR), Field Change Request (FCR).
• Manage stakeholder relationships (customers, vendors, engineering, project management) for smooth execution of projects.
• Man-Hrs. Estimation, Piping Activity Planning for project execution & preparation of DDI for Piping Deliverables.
• Piping Design Basis preparation & Work Allocation to assigned engineers & Modeler as per execution plan.
• Conduct Plot plan, Layout reviews, Model reviews & coordinate with other interdisciplinary activities to ensure smooth execution of project.
• Identify risk areas or bottlenecks, Preparing & Releasing DCR (Design Change Requests) & ECN (Engineering Change Notes).
• Enhance skills of resources by guiding & training.
• Conduct Periodic Progress Review.
• Address & report important technical / procedural / execution matters to superior.

Preferred candidate profile

Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 8- 12 yrs

Educational Qualification: BE Mechanical AND Chemical ,Advance Diploma Piping Design & Engineering

• Understanding of Contracts, Risk management, Change management
• Technical knowledge in the field of Piping Engineering applicable to sector & industries
• Knowledge of Design Codes (ASME, DIN, EN), Standards & Regulations
• Conversant with piping components & dimensions / material standards
• Understanding of other engineering disciplines (civil, structure, instrumentation, static / rotary equipment & packages)
• Conversant with Hygienic Piping
• Hands-on Experience of 3D Modeling (Software like Auto Plant, Plant 4D, PDS, PDMS, Micro-station
