Brief: A production/shift supervisor specialist ensures that the final product observes the company’s production standards. In general, the job-oriented professional is responsible for the smooth production process implementation and activities, the detection and resolution of problems and the delivery or satisfactory outcomes.
Responsibility:
- Maintains work flow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments. Perform verification of production output according to specifications.
- Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries. ensure customer orders are completed on time and to budget and that quality standards and targets are met.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards. Detect issues in efficiency and suggest improvements. Making improvements to current operations to enhance efficiency through cycle time improvement, reduction of changeover time.
- Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests.
- Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements; implementing change.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
- Supervising engineering/production and technical staff. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
- Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies. Knowledge of time TPM/TQM/KAIZEN/SIX SIGMA, SMED, 5S, ROA, ROP, ROQ, OEE, QC, Tact time, production cycle etc. will be added advantage.
- ensure that the production will be cost effective by estimating costs and negotiating and agreeing budgets with both clients and managers. review worker performance and identify training need monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programs
- ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all time
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Prepare reports on performance and progress and present them to senior managers work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree/Master Degree in Engineering (/Mechanical/Production etc) or any other related field and strong communication skills with overall min. 60% aggregate marks.
- Industry Experience minimum plus 5 years
- Knowledge of computer competence, including database management
- Knowledge of production terminology, methods and technique
- Analytical problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Demonstrated knowledge of production process in manufacturing industry
