Summary:
Sr. Network Engineer will be instrumental in ensuring smooth network operations and maintaining a secure, reliable, and scalable network infrastructure. This role demands practical expertise in network configuration, troubleshooting, and managing complex environments, including Data Center and SD-WAN solutions.
The Sr. Network Engineer will address escalated issues from L1 support, manage incidents, provide 24x7 operational support, and ensure the prompt resolution of all network-related challenges. This role involves understanding customer requirements, coordinating with relevant stakeholders, addressing queries, and executing activities to develop effective solutions.
Responsibilities:
1. Network Operations & Incident Management:
Handle escalations from L1 resources and provide guidance for effective resolution. Manage day-to-day network operations, including incident reporting, review, and resolution within defined timelines. Troubleshoot and resolve issues across LAN, WAN & Wi-Fi network, covering Access, Distribution, and Core layers.
2. Network Configuration & Troubleshooting:
Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot networking and security devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers (CISCO, Juniper, etc.). Design, implement, and manage SD-WAN solutions for medium to large-scale Internet & MPLS WAN networks. Configure advanced routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF) and have good expertise in TCP/IP, OSI models, and IP SLA.
3. Network Security & Compliance:
Secure network systems by establishing policies, defining and monitoring access, and enforcing compliance standards. Regularly patch and harden all provisioned network and security devices.
4. Design & Documentation:
Prepare High-Level Design (HLD) and Low-Level Design (LLD) documentation. Generate configuration templates for network changes and maintain version-controlled documentation. Create and maintain blueprints for NOC and SOC processes and procedures.
5. Operational Support & Shift Management:
Provide 24x7 support for data center networks and relevant operations. Monitor and protect data center networks, including internet-facing applications.
6. Vendor & Asset Management:
Coordinate with vendors for network and security device support and maintenance. Manage inventory and ensure accurate asset documentation.
7. Performance Reporting & Audits:
Prepare and present operational reports, dashboards, and presentations as required. Conduct network equipment testing and maintain audit records to ensure compliance.
8. Customer Interaction & Problem Solving:
Understand customer requirements, queries, and activities to prepare effective resolutions. Ensure timely and professional communication to address customer needs.
Experience :
1) 4 plus years of working experience on large complex enterprise networks. - Mandatory
2) Must have hands-on experience in protocols/technologies like MPLS (traffic engineering, L2/L3 VPN), BGP-4/MP-BGP, ISIS, OSPF/OSPFv3, EIGRP, RSVP, LDP, VXLAN, Network Access Control, 802.1x, VPN. - Mandatory 3) Experience in Software Defined Network (SDN) & SD-WAN. - Mandatory 4) Hands on experience on multi-vendor / multi-service IP networks, multi-vendor equipment and network protocols. - Mandatory 5) Configuration experience on Network management and monitoring tools - Mandatory 6) Experience in conducting regular Network performance review, Network analysis and running detailed Network improvement plans with Network Providers. - Mandatory 7) Experience on Network Management tools like Cisco ISE, DNAC. - Mandatory 8) Experience in Solution Design and Architecture assessment of large networks - Desirable 9) Experience in Security devices - Added advantage 10)Experience in dealing with banks / financial institutions /NBFCs networks - Added advantage 11)Proficiency in managing and securing Data Center networks - Desirable
Education :
B.E/ B.Tech/MCA (Computer/IT)/B.Sc (Computers)
Certification:
1) CCNP - Mandatory
2) ITIL Foundation - Desirable
Knowledge:
1) Understanding of OSI model and TCP/IP protocol (IPv4 & IPv6) - Mandatory
