Sr. Manager - Inventory Control & WIP Management( Manufacturing)

We are having urgent requirements for Sr. Manager - Inventory Control & WIP Management( Manufacturing) position at Royal Chain Pvt Ltd.

Role Objective:

Key Responsibilities:

End-to-End Inventory Ownership

Full ownership of inventory including:

Gold, silver, alloys

Diamonds & gemstones

Consumables impacting WIP

WIP across all production stages

Finished jewellery

• Maintain clear segregation between: Company inventory

Customer metal / job work inventory Consignment / approval stock

• Ensure real-time visibility and traceability of inventory at all times.

Inventory Planning & Control

• Define and manage minimum, maximum, and reorder levels.

• Prevent: Overstocking (working capital blockage)

Stock-outs (production disruption)

• Calculate and monitor:

Inventory Turn Ratios (monthly / quarterly)

Days of inventory on hand

• Benchmark performance against industry standards and drive improvement plans.

WIP Management & Ageing Control (CRITICAL)

• Track WIP department-wise, process-wise, order-wise.

• Generate WIP ageing reports: 07 days 815 days 1630 days 30+ days (critical escalation) • Instruct production managers on: Clearing aged WIP Bottleneck resolution Priority sequencing • Escalate abnormal ageing to AGM / GM Production / Head Of Production.

Lean Manufacturing, TOC & Bottleneck Management

• Apply Lean Manufacturing principles: Waste elimination (excess inventory, waiting, rework, motion, defects) Flow optimisation Visual controls & standard work • Apply Theory of Constraints (TOC): Identify production bottlenecks Use DrumBufferRope concepts Align inventory release with bottleneck capacity • Use inventory and WIP data to diagnose constraints, not just report numbers. • Improve throughput and cycle time across the factory.

Stock Movement & Accuracy Control:

• Control all stock movements: Inward receipts Issues to production Inter-department transfers Returns, rejections, scrap Dispatches • Ensure weight accuracy: Gross weight Net weight Fine gold Stone weight • Enforce No Entry = No Movement discipline.

Loss, Wastage & Recovery Management

ERP, MIS & Decision Support

Audit support

Audit, Compliance & Governance

Process Improvement & Discipline • Implement and monitor: Barcoding & tagging Batch-wise & lot-level traceability • Design and enforce SOPs for: Issue & receipt WIP movement Customer inventory handling • Train production teams on inventory discipline. • Act as process enforcer, not just a reporter.

Security & Confidentiality • Ensure strict access control and segregation of duties. • Maintain confidentiality of inventory and valuation data. • Coordinate with security teams for surprise checks.

Skills & Competencies :

• Deep knowledge of jewellery manufacturing workflows • Strong understanding of: Gold purity, alloying, karat conversions Stone accounting • Hands-on experience in: Lean Manufacturing Theory of Constraints (TOC) Bottleneck & throughput management • Strong analytical, reconciliation & problem-solving skills • Advanced ERP & Excel proficiency (Pivot tables, Lookups, MIS) • Ability to use data to drive action and accountability • High integrity, authority handling, and discipline

Educational Qualification

• Added Advantage: Certification in: Inventory management Supply chain Lean / Six Sigma Jewellery manufacturing systems

Experience Requirement • Minimum: 8 - 10 years in jewellery manufacturing inventory control • Ideal: 1215 years in mid-to-large jewellery factories.

Must have handled: High-value inventory Customer metal Multi-stage WIP ERP-driven audits & reconciliations
