Role & responsibilities

1 Systems Administration &

Administer, configure, and maintain Windows Server environments (2008/2012/2016/2019), Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, IIS, and related infrastructure.

Perform system builds, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management of physical and virtual servers.

Implement and manage system backups, disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) strategies.

Monitor and optimize server performance, capacity, and availability across multiple data centers.

Provide 24x7 support for mission-critical systems on a rotating on-call basis.

2Patching, Security & Compliance:

Manage OS patching, virus updates, and service packs, including scheduling, deployment, and reporting.

Support vulnerability management, endpoint protection, and security event resolution.

Ensure compliance with IT security standards, HIPAA, and internal audit requirements (SOX, JSOX).

Perform RCA (Root Cause Analysis) for critical incidents and implement preventive measures.

3 Networking & Infrastructure Support:

Work with network teams on IP configuration, firewall, routing, and device integration (Cisco UCS, HP, Dell, and Brocade).

Troubleshoot application and connectivity issues using tools such as Wireshark, Process Monitor, Telnet, Traceroute, etc.

Support cross-platform integration with Linux, VMware ESX, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and third-party applications.

4 Automation & Optimization:

Develop and maintain PowerShell, Batch, WMI, or Perl scripts to automate operational tasks.

Implement monitoring and alerting solutions (Nagios, Solar Winds, SCOM, New Relic, and Victor Ops).

Optimize system performance and implement high availability configurations.

5 Collaboration & Leadership:

Act as technical lead on infrastructure projects, migrations, and upgrades.

Mentor and guide junior engineers and administrators.

Partner with application teams to support deployments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.

Document infrastructure standards, configuration guides, and operational runbooks.

Experience:

7 Technical Expertise:

Windows Server 2008/2012/2016/2019, Active Directory, ADFS, GPO, RDS.

Virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).

Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPNs, Load Balancing).

Backup/restore solutions and DR/BCP planning.

Security and compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOX).

Patch management and system monitoring tools.

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.
