Job Description

Responsibilities

Candidate should have capability to perform following activities:

Responsible for the complete commercial and financial management of all system-related work packages within an elevated metro project. This includes cost control, procurement, contract administration, and claims management for all metro systems - rolling stock, E&M (electrical and mechanical), signaling, telecommunications, AFC (automatic fare collection) etc.

Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and financial plans for all system contracts. Provide input for project cash flow projections.

Identify and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering initiatives specific to rail systems, without compromising safety or performance.

Analyze, prepare, and defend variation claims as per contract.

Support project team in contractual correspondences regarding quantities.

Support tender/contract department for preparing & monitoring Bills of Quantities (BOQs), specifications, and special conditions.

Work closely with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure cost data aligns with technical specifications and design changes.

Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and measurements from drawings, schematics for various systems (e.g., electrical, mechanical, plumbing etc).

Verify and authenticate measurements and quantities against work orders, drawings, and standard specifications.

Perform physical verification of quantities at the site and prepare variance reports.

Mentor junior engineers and quantity surveyors within the systems team.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a bachelor s degree in electrical/ mechanical/ Electronics Engineering with minimum 10 yrs of experience.

The position demands strong technical knowledge of metro systems, quantity surveying skills, and an ability to coordinate between multiple stakeholders including contractors, consultants, and client representatives.

Familiarity with FIDIC desirable and other standard contract conditions.

Strong knowledge of metro system works (Signaling, Telecom, AFC, Power Supply, E&M, etc.).

Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Project/Primavera, and measurement software/tools.

Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.
