Sr. Engineer - Production Planning

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Senior Engineer - Production Planning to lead and optimize our production planning activities in the Green Energy and Waste Management sector, specifically involving custom-designed equipment and machinery for poultry processing and recycling operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely production scheduling, efficient resource allocation, and seamless coordination with cross-functional departments to support environmentally sustainable manufacturing solutions.

This role plays a key part in the manufacturing of capital machinery used for organic waste processing, rendering, and recycling systems critical for waste-to-energy conversion and sustainability-focused applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage production schedules in alignment with customer orders, engineering designs, and project deadlines.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, Assembly, and Quality Assurance teams to ensure timely and accurate production execution.
• Plan the production of highly customized equipment and systems used in poultry waste processing, organic rendering, and recycling applications.
• Monitor manufacturing progress, identify delays or issues, and take corrective actions to ensure timely completion.
• Review Bill of Materials (BOM), engineering drawings, and technical specifications to plan material and manpower requirements.
• Optimize machine and labor utilization, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Implement lean manufacturing and continuous improvement practices tailored to the unique challenges of the green technology sector.
• Track inventory levels of raw materials, components, and work-in-progress (WIP) to prevent shortages or excesses.
• Generate production reports, capacity plans, and dashboards for internal reviews and performance tracking.
• Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental compliance standards throughout the planning process.

Skills and Competencies Required:

• Strong understanding of capital equipment manufacturing, preferably in waste management or recycling technology domains.
• Excellent production planning, resource allocation, and operations coordination skills.
• Proficient in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) for production and material planning.
• Sound knowledge of engineering drawings, fabrication workflows, and mechanical assemblies.
• Familiarity with green manufacturing practices, sustainability standards, and quality compliance.
• Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities.
• Good communication and team collaboration skills.
• Ability to work under tight timelines in a project-driven manufacturing environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Production, or Industrial Engineering.
• Additional certifications in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or supply chain management will be an advantage.
• 5-8 years of hands-on experience in production planning and control in a machinery or equipment manufacturing setup.
• Experience in industries related to poultry processing, waste recycling, or green energy systems is highly preferred.
