Job Description

Role Summary

MEP quantity verification, contractor billing certification, technical review, cost control, material reconciliation, and coordination

Key Responsibilities

1. Quantity Verification & Technical Checks

  • Verify MEP quantities (Electrical, Plumbing, Firefighting, HVAC, ELV systems) submitted by contractors.
  • Cross-check quantities with

    GFC drawings, specifications, and approved BOQ

    .
  • Prepare independent quantity take-offs for major services.
  • Review shop drawings for QS relevance and quantity accuracy.

2. Contractor Billing & Certification

  • Review & certify

    MEP RA bills

    , measurement sheets, and supporting documents.
  • Validate contract rates, quantities, deductions, recoveries, and GST.
  • Verify extra items, variation claims, and prepare rate justification.
  • Ensure accurate billing based on installation progress and approved work fronts.

3. Cost Monitoring & MIS

  • Track

    budget vs. actual

    for MEP works and highlight deviations.
  • Prepare monthly

    MEP QS & Cost MIS

    for management.
  • Support cash-flow projections, cost forecasts, and financial impact assessments.

4. MEP System Monitoring

  • Verify installation quantities for electrical conduits, DBs, panels, cables, earthing.
  • Plumbing lines, pumps, tanks, sanitary fixtures, and firefighting network quantities.
  • Check HVAC ducting, insulation, copper piping, equipment installation.
  • Validate equipment test reports, pre-commissioning and commissioning readiness.

5. Material Reconciliation

  • Check reconciliation for:
    • Cables, conduits, panels
    • Pipes, fittings, valves
    • Firefighting materials
    • Ducting & HVAC materials
  • Ensure reconciliation aligns with theoretical consumption.

6. Coordination & Documentation

  • Maintain MEP MBs, BOQ updates, variation logs, and material approval records.
  • Coordinate with project execution, MEP consultants, contractors, planning & QA/QC.
  • Assist in preparation of agreements, amendments, and contract documentation.
  • Participate in progress & billing meetings and update the QS/Billing status.

Requirements

  • Diploma / B.Tech / B.E. Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8 to 12 years of MEP, QS & Billing experience.
  • Experience in

    high-rise residential/commercial projects

    mandatory
  • Strong knowledge of BOQ, rate analysis, MEP standards, and contract conditions.
  • Proficiency in Excel, AutoCAD, and MEP drawings.
